Applying

Ready to begin the Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) program? The first step is to visit the University of Missouri-Columbia Office of Admissions. Here you'll find everything you need to know about applying to the University, fees and financial aid and more.

Transfer Students

The following policy will be in place for all students transferring to the HRM program starting with the summer 2006 semester.

Students transferring to the HRM program must successfully complete HRM 1043, Introduction to the Hotel and Restaurant Management Industry, during their first semester in the program. If a transfer student has already successfully completed HRM 1043, they may select from HRM 1133, Hospitality Law; HRM 1995, Basic Food Production or HRM 3143, Front Office Procedures and Management. In addition, transfer students must successfully complete 12 hours of HRM courses progressing toward their HRM degree during their first academic year in the program.

For the purpose of this policy, HRM courses are defined as those with an HRM prefix and do not include Business or Food Science courses. Successfully completing a course is defined as earning a grade of C- or better.
